Mobius Photonics developed its unique "Meight" connector design to meet the demanding precision power delivery needs of today's laser manufacturers. Meight is a detachable optical fiber connector tailored for applications such as pump light delivery and fiber coupling in commercial and industrial lasers.
Meight connectors accommodate up to a few hundred watts of power via multimode fibers with core diameters from 50 microns to 1 mm. They are keyed for consistent, repeatable coupling. A large-thread hex nut guides and fastens the connector in place to ensure a secure, reliable mechanical connection. Meight connectors can be used to fiber couple through a sealed bulkhead and can be de-coupled without breaking the bulkhead seal.
Currently used in G1 laser systems, Mobius' Meight connector is a field-proven solution for durable fiber coupling. The Meight product suite also includes protective end caps, inspection tooling and a variety of adapters and launchers compatible with other standard optical couplings.
